Kimberly Simpson is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and Maxim's de Paris Culinary School. She has also completed the College Counseling Certification Program at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has served on numerous public and private high school committees and task forces, focusing in the area of college and career planning. Additionally, she has been invited to give presentations on the admissions process to a variety of public and private high schools and organizations in the metro-New Orleans and Northshore areas.

Recognizing a need to assist underrepresented, low income students in the college admissions process, Kimberly decided to create Collegiate Capstones, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which offers pro bono college consulting services to students at Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies and other regional students. 

Kimberly is a contributor to The Princeton Review's The Best 368 Colleges-2009 Edition, The Best 371 Colleges-2010 Edition, and other upcoming publications. She is a current member of The Princeton Review National College Counselor Advisory Board, a sustainer member of the Junior League of Greater Covington, a member of the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce, and a graduate of Leadership St. Tammany.


She has two daughters. Her elder daughter graduated from Washington and Lee University and is currently attending the University of Notre Dame Law School. Her younger daughter also graduated from Washington and Lee University and is currently attending the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. Kimberly resides in Covington, Louisiana with her husband, William.

Susan H. Meyers graduated from Louisiana State University (BS Zoology). She then received a Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University in 1984 and spent several years in New Orleans practicing law at a large New Orleans firm. She has also completed the College Counseling Certificate Program at the University of California, Los Angeles.

        She has served on numerous non-profit boards including: Christ Episcopal Church, Covington, LA, Junior League of Greater Covington, Covington, LA., The American Women's Club of The Hague, Netherlands, ACCESS, New Orleans, LA., Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Assn., New Orleans, LA, Lee Next Step Fund, Houston, TX. Last year she offered pro bono college consulting services to Lee and Northbrook High School students in Houston. Presently she is working with several area students on a pro bono basis. Additionally, she has been invited to give presentations on the admissions process to a variety of public and private high schools and organizations in the Houston area.

       In 2008 Susan returned from living eight years in the Netherlands where her husband Mark was assigned to the home office for Royal Dutch Shell. They now reside in Houston.

       Her son is a recent graduate of Washington and Lee University and is pursuing a M.Div. at Westminster California Seminary in Escondido, CA. Her elder daughter is a senior at Texas Christian University and her younger daughter graduated from Houston Christian High School and is a freshman at Louisiana State University.

Cynthia S. Harlan is a graduate of University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). She then received a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. She has served as member and chairman of several school boards in Covington, LA. and is chairman of Episcopal Schools Commission for the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. She also serves on several nonprofit boards in St Tammany and New Orleans including Trinity Christian Community, Episcopal Community Services and the West 30's Revitalization Project. She is also a graduate of Leadership St. Tammany.

Cindy launched and directs a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Collegiate Capstones, that identifies and provides resources for underrepresented students to attain their higher education and career goals. She offers pro bono college consulting services to students at Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies. She has been invited to give presentations on the admissions process to public and private high schools and organizations in the metro-New Orleans and Northshore areas.

Additionally, Cindy is a contributor for several publications in St. Tammany Parish. She has three children, two who are current Baylor University students and one who is a recent graduate of Baylor. Cindy resides in Covington with her husband Mike.

Writing Specialist

 

Wendi W. Majeau graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and a minor in Journalism. She earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans with an advanced degree as a Reading Specialist. After earning a certification as a Gifted Education Specialist from UNO, Wendi was selected to join the faculty of Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies in Metairie, LA.

In addition to being a teacher of gifted students, Wendi has served as the middle school director in private and parochial schools in the greater New Orleans area. She has served on numerous planning committees for curriculum development and computer literacy, and was instrumental in organizing the first Haynes Academy Key Club.

Wendi’s daughter, Renee, attends the University of Mississippi and is pursuing the study of Forensic Chemistry. Her son, Trey, attends Southeastern Louisiana University where he is pursuing a degree in the Allied Health field. Wendi resides in Metairie, Louisiana with her family.
